What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

  • Reiki is offered in a number of hospitals and nursing homes as well as alternative holistic treatment in combination with massage, acupuncture and chiropractic therapies.

    • Reiki is NOT a substitution for medical treatment!

How does Reiki work?

  • Reiki is administered by a Reiki Practitioner who is a conduit for the Reiki energy to flow from the Reiki Practitioner’s hands to the recipient.

Is Reiki a religion?

  • Although many people from various cultures practice Reiki, Reiki is NOT a religion and is not affiliated or stakes claim to any religious sect or dogma.

Where is the Reiki session performed?

  • Reiki can be performed in-person or via distance.

How do I prepare for a Reiki session?

  • Recipient should wear comfortable clothing, eat a light meal (avoid caffeine) drink plenty of water and possibly use rest room prior to session.

  • Recipient should have an open and positive mindset to receive Reiki.

What should I expect from a Reiki session?

  •   Recipient may or may not experience sensations such as: tingling, heat, chills, extreme sense of relaxation, crying and or laughing. Reiki will always flow where it is needed, so it is totally fine if no sensations are felt!
